Program – Colonel Kevin “Wolfy” Iiams USMC – MAG-41 CO
We are very pleased to have Colonel Iiams as our guest and speaker for Tuesday night’s dinner. On 18 July 2009 Colonel Iiams took command of Marine Aircraft Group-41. Hailing from the Crescent City of New Orleans, Colonel Iiams is an F/A-18 pilot with over 3,700 hours in tactical fighter aircraft. His background includes tours of duty with VMFA-451 and VMFA-235, including combat missions in Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, as well as a forward air controller instructor, tactics instructor and adversary pilot at MAWTS-1. In August of 2003, Colonel Iiams assumed command of VMFA-242 deploying to Iraqi Airbase Al Asad, Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Colonel Iiams is a graduate of the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA, and most recently served in billets at USCENTCOM AOR as the Battle Staff Exercise Branch Chief, Chief of Operations for the Joint Operations Center, and Director J7 (normally a General Officer billet). Colonel Iiams will give a brief overview of his initial assessment of MAG-41 operations and share his outlook on upcoming operations.
